About the site

In recent years, Nine Elms has transformed from an industrial hub into a new neighbourhood for London, and Watkin Jones Group believe that the re-development of the Bookers Wholesale and the BMW garage on Battersea Park Road and Sleaford Street into a vibrant mixed-use development creating new jobs, public spaces & routes, and new homes, represents the next step in the regeneration of the area.

With the site being subject to a previous planning proposal,  which was approved but were not delivered, the conversation is therefore what should replace the current vacant showroom and retail warehouse. We believe that new commercial, public and retail spaces, backed by a range of new housing, fits into the changing nature of our area.

We also think that this site is particularly important for Nine Elms.

It is where the new residential developments to the north and east meet existing communities in Viridian Apartments and the Savona Estate to the south and west. It is also where busy bus routes meet the new Battersea Power Station tube station and where the proposed linear park, starting at the American Embassy, meets the landscaping planned at Battersea Power Station.
